The Radio Room
As a final year journalism student at King's, we had the opportunity to produce a magazine radio show twice a week, called the Radio Room. My classmates and I alternated reporting, hosting and producing roles. These shows were originally played on the Dalhousie University radio station, 88.1 CKDU FM.
It was our mission was to tell stories worth remembering and retelling. I achieved this by finding off-beat approaches to aspects of every day halifax life.
I found a man who dives in the Halifax harbour over 100 times a year, a NSCAD student raising a radio transmitting rabbit, a cat with an improbable name and a Haligonian sex-positive ablist making international news with her first book.
